Greenpeace Middle East and North Africa (MENA), established in 2018, works to address the region’s complex environmental and climate challenges through community-centered, justice-oriented approaches. As a politically and financially independent nonprofit organization, Greenpeace MENA is part of the global Greenpeace network, comprising 27 independent national and regional organizations across 56 countries. Greenpeace does not accept funding from governments, corporations, or political parties, relying instead on individuals and independent foundations.
As part of its organizational development and Justice, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Safety (JEDIS) commitments, Greenpeace MENA is embarking on an internal decolonization journey. This process seeks to critically examine and challenge colonial and Eurocentric frameworks embedded in organizational language, structures, and practices, with a strong emphasis on regional realities, linguistic justice, and inclusive systems.
Greenpeace MENA is seeking a short-term consultant to provide technical expertise and facilitation support to co-lead the implementation of this decolonization initiative.
This consultancy will support internal learning, participatory consultation processes, and the development of strategic outputs that inform future organizational directions related to language, identity, and inclusive practice. This assignment is time-bound and does not constitute a staff or long-term role.

This consultancy is expected to require approximately 20 working days, distributed flexibly over six months.
The consultant will report to the JEDIS & Integrity Officer and work closely with the JEDIS Working Group, Executive Director, and relevant senior leadership.
Greenpeace MENA will provide access to relevant internal documents, staff, and platforms, as well as coordination, IT, and translation support as required.
