Job Purpose
The SWEP Assistant is responsible for supporting the SWEP Coordinator in ensuring the growth and expansion of the SWEP program in alignment with SHOFCO’s vision and strategy. This includes planning, implementing, and marketing sustainable livelihood initiatives aimed at empowering women through entrepreneurship, capacity building, and economic opportunities.
Key Responsibilities / Duties/ Tasks
Program Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation:
Assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating program initiatives in line with SHOFCO’s mission and strategy.
Keep track of program activity plans and implementation schedules to ensure quality of activities and timely achievement of outputs.
Monitor the progress of the program and maintain relationships by communicating with the women.
Facilitate the intake, assessment, referral, and monitoring of members of SWEP.
Identify, recruit, and build capacity of individuals enrolled in the SWEP project.
Explore ideas for the economic empowerment of members and the proper utilization of peer mentoring techniques to this end.
Document all SWEP activities and success stories.
Market SWEP products and assist in online marketing and sales.
Participate in exhibitions and trade fairs.
Maintain the sales ledger/data.
Gather customer feedback.
Conduct market assessment to determine new trends and advise the department.
Collect payments for SWEP merchandise.
Create new designs.
Ensure product quality control and ensure that all orders are completed on time.
Ensure that SWEP supplies are available and place requests.
Ensure program equipment (the machines and equipment) are in good condition and serviced regularly.
Supervise and allocate roles to SWEP tailors.
Ensure SWEP shops are maintained and attended to.
Promote an entrepreneurial spirit within the program.
Identify SWEP beneficiaries’ training needs and facilitate workshop sessions.
Provide women with mentors, employment-related skills, and experiential learning to build networks and expand opportunities.
Organize and facilitate SWEP support groups and table banking/VSLA meetings.
Assist to manage program resources by tracking use against approved budgets and ensuring compliance.
Submit monthly production payroll.
Explore areas of partnerships and collaboration with other like-minded organizations.
Ensure all the beneficiaries’ data is captured in Google Drive.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Other Duties:
Ensure all the beneficiaries’ data is captured in Google Drive.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Job Competencies (Knowledge, Experience and Attributes / Skills).
Academic Qualifications
Diploma in Project management, business, entrepreneurship and/or social work or any other related field with 1 years
Certificate in Project Management, Business, Entrepreneurship and/or Social Work or any related field with 2 years’ experience
Professional Qualifications
Qualification in any relevant field
Other requirements (unique/job specific)
Ability to support the planning, implementation, and monitoring of livelihood initiatives in line with organizational goals.
Proficiency in marketing SWEP products
Experience creating new product designs, ensuring quality control, and meeting production deadlines.
Competence in identifying training needs for SWEP members,
Experience in data collection, tracking beneficiary progress, and documenting program activities and success stories.
