This is an expedited recruitment process open only to:

Context
Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission (CoM), the direct supervision of the Head of Programme Support Unit, and in close coordination with Programme Managers, the Programme Support Officer will be responsible for providing coordination, technical support and assistance for programmatic coherence among the various activities and the identification of synergies among programmes and projects of IOM Mozambique Country Office (CO) in close collaboration with Project Managers and Field Offices.
Responsibilities
1. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all programme implementation in Mozambique, updating and tracking activities in relevant information management systems and databases.
2. Liaise with the Resources Management Officers and Programme Managers to check that IOM’s financial standards and requirements are observed in project development and reporting matters.
3. Coordinate the drafting of interim and final reports for donors, including liaising with relevant units in the Regional Office and Headquarters (HQ), and facilitate the timely submission of project reports in compliance with existing project agreements.
4. Compile and consolidate inputs in response to HQ, Regional Office and donor requests for reporting, responses, recommendations and approaches towards the CO’s thematic areas of operation, in line with the CO’s strategy.
5. Research, analyse and draft other documents necessary for project development, reporting and donor liaison purposes.
6. Supervise Program Support Assistant(s) and coordinate operational and administrative aspects of Programme Support Unit (PSU) such as HR and procurement matters relevant for the unit.
7. Support the adequate and timely implementation and application of CO’s Monitoring and Evaluation system.
8. Contribute to the research of potential funding sources among government and non-government donors in line with IOM’s overall strategy in the country, and in close coordination with the Chief of Mission, Head of Programmes and Operations and Programme Managers, liaise with donor counterparts to exchange information regarding programme and project possibilities and funding requirements.
9. Coordinate and provide technical inputs for monitoring activities to facilitate the production and dissemination of data in relation to implementation challenges, potential solutions and the timely delivery of activities and services within the designated timeframe.
10. Undertake duty travel relating to the provision of information and support with respect to project/programme management and progress, liaison with counterparts, and internal procedures for monitoring and reporting.
11. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Languages
For this position, fluency in English is required (oral and written).
Working knowledge of Portuguese is an advantage.
IOM’s official languages are English, French, and Spanish. All staff members are required to be fluent in one of the three languages.
Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
