About SIHA Network
The Strategic Initiative for Women in the Horn of Africa (SIHA Network) is a regional coalition of women’s rights organizations established in 1995 and working across Sudan, South Sudan, Somalia, Somaliland, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Eritrea, and Uganda. SIHA strengthens feminist movements and advances women’s rights through advocacy, research, and capacity building.
About the Consultancy
SIHA is seeking an experienced and committed Facilitator for a three-day Feminist Leadership and Management Training to be held in Kampala, Uganda. The training will bring together 20 leaders from Women’s Rights Organizations (WROs) across Uganda, Sudan, South Sudan, Djibouti, Somalia, Somaliland, and Ethiopia.
This workshop aims to strengthen transformative feminist leadership and management practices, with a focus on:
Power and organizational culture
Shared leadership and inclusive decision-making
Advocacy and movement-building
Self-care, collective care, and trauma-informed leadership
Networking and solidarity among feminist leaders
The facilitator will use SIHA’s Feminist Training Manual and apply participatory, adult-learning and feminist methodologies that center lived experiences, peer learning, and reflection.
Key Responsibilities
The facilitator will be responsible for:
1. Training Design & Preparation
Review project documents and participant profiles
Develop a detailed three-day training plan
Design pre- and post-training assessment tools
Coordinate with SIHA team on methodology and logistics
2. Training Facilitation (3 Days)
Deliver an inclusive, safe, and participatory feminist leadership training
Facilitate discussions on power dynamics, leadership, and organizational practices
Lead practical sessions using case studies, role plays, and group exercises
Integrate trauma-informed, self-care, and collective care approaches
Support participants to develop practical organizational action points
Promote networking and peer learning
3. Documentation & Reporting
Administer assessments and compile results
Produce a final training report highlighting key discussions, outcomes, and recommendations
Required Qualifications & Experience
Master’s degree in Gender Studies, Development Studies, Humanities, or a related field
Proven experience designing and facilitating trainings on feminist leadership, gender equality, feminist organizing, or movement building
Experience facilitating senior-level leaders in multi-country or regional settings
Strong understanding of feminist frameworks including:
Power analysis and intersectionality
Shared leadership and feminist organizational culture
Inclusive decision-making and accountability
Demonstrated ability to apply adult learning and participatory training methodologies
Experience integrating trauma-informed, self-care and well-being approaches
Excellent facilitation and communication skills
Strong reporting and documentation skills
Fluency in English
Strong commitment to feminist values and women’s rights
