WORK CONTEXT
CESVI Fondazione ETS has been operating in Somalia since 2006, with a country office in Mogadishu and field bases in Galkayo South and Beletweyne. The organisation implements multisectoral humanitarian and development programmes across Mudug, Galgaduud, Hiraan, Lower Shabelle, and Banadir regions.
Its activities focus on improving access to health and nutrition services, WASH, food security and
livelihoods, protection, and community resilience through disaster risk reduction and early warning
systems. CESVI works in close coordination with local authorities, partners, and communities to
strengthen resilience and deliver life-saving assistance to vulnerable populations affected by conflict, drought, and displacement.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Job summary:
The Country Logistics and Supply Chain Coordinator will provide strategic leadership, technical oversight, and effective management of all logistics, supply chain, and security functions within the CESVI country program. This combined role is critical in ensuring timely, efficient, compliant, and cost-effective delivery of humanitarian and development programs, upholding CESVI’s standards, donor requirements, and local regulations, while prioritizing the safety and security of all staff, assets, and operations. The Coordinator will be responsible for strengthening overall operational systems, enhancing the capacity of logistics and security staff, and ensuring optimal support to program implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
Essential requirements
• Degree in a relevant field: Supply Chain Management / Logistics, Business Administration (with
operations/logistics focus), Procurement / Purchasing, Operations Management
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in logistics, supply chain, and security management within a humanitarian INGO context, with at least 3 years in a coordination/management role.
• Proven experience in all technical areas of supply chain operations, including procurement, transport/distribution, warehousing, fleet management, and asset management.
• Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing security plans, conducting risk assessments, managing security incidents, and providing security training.
• Strong understanding of humanitarian principles and demonstrated experience working in complex, insecure, and challenging environments.
• Experience in staff management, training, and capacity building.
• Excellent organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex information and make informed decisions.
• Proven ability to manage a substantial workload, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines under
pressure.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication (written and verbal), and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required

Other requirements
• Familiarity with institutional donor requirements and reporting standards is an advantage.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills to work across teams and with diverse stakeholders.
