Background:
FCA is Finland’s largest development co-operation organization and the second biggest organization in Finland working in humanitarian aid. In Somalia FCA has been working under a right to peace thematic areas since 2008 including governance and reconciliation projects and later has expanded in quality education (R2QE) thematic area.
Primary purpose of the position:
To provide technical and operational support to the Badbaado – Skills for Resilience and Green Economy in Somalia project, ensuring effective and inclusive delivery of green TVET training (solar, CSA, waste management), youth employment pathways, business incubation, and community engagement.
Main tasks:
Project Implementation & Coordination
Support planning, implementation, and follow-up of all project activities under the guidance of the Project Manager.
Assist in coordinating solar energy, climate‑smart agriculture (CSA), and waste‑management training modules with TVET centers.
Ensure smooth logistics arrangements for training, field visits, distributions, and community sessions.
Monitor progress in the field and provide timely updates to the Project Manager.
Community Engagement & Beneficiary Selection
Conduct community mobilization and outreach for women, youth, IDPs، and PwDs.
Support transparent and inclusive beneficiary selection processes.
Organize awareness sessions on climate action, green skills, and livelihood opportunities.
Private-sector Linkages
Liaise with solar companies, farms, workshops, recycling businesses, and microfinance institutions.
Facilitate internship, apprenticeship, and job-placement opportunities.
Monitoring, Reporting & Documentation
Collect training attendance, pre/post test data, internship tracking, and job-placement information.
Prepare activity reports, field visit reports, and case stories.
Support MEAL team in baseline, endline, tracer study, and KAP surveys.
Ensure proper documentation of all activities, photos, and beneficiary lists
Safeguarding, Protection, and Accountability
Ensure all activities comply with FCA Safeguarding and PSEAH policies.
Identify and report safeguarding concerns immediately.
Support implementation of CRM/FRM mechanisms during activities.
Ensure safe programming principles are respected at all levels.
Experience:
Minimum 2–4 years of experience in TVET, renewable energy, agriculture, livelihood, or youth programming.
Technical knowledge in at least one: solar PV, CSA, waste management, or business incubation.
Experience working with communities, women groups, youth, IDPs, and PwDs.
Strong skills in coordination, reporting, and field facilitation.
Good understanding of Somalia/Somaliland context.
Good English (oral/written).
University diploma or degree in renewable energy, electrical, agriculture, environmental studies, or development studies.
