Awards/Operations Specialist & PRIME Lead (Maternity Cover) Full Time NEW

Scope of Role

• Reporting Line: Deputy Country Director–Programme Operations.
• Stakeholders: 14 Area Heads, Supply-Chain & Finance directors, PDQ, Awards, and Regional Office teams.
• Reach: 500+ staff across 13/18 states; direct influence on USD 100 M annual spend.
• Child Safeguarding: Level 3—regular, intensive contact with children; rigorous vetting applies.
• Contract Length: 6 months (Maternity Cover)

Role Purpose

You will be the operational nerve-centre for Sudan’s USD 100 M portfolio, turning raw data into clear decisions and ensuring our new PRIME system launches smoothly. From tracking high-risk awards to coordinating field visits, your insights will keep programmes on time, on budget, and fully accountable to children.

Key Deliverables

• Reporting: Produce monthly/quarterly KPI dashboards, factsheets, and risk-trend analyses.
• Analytics: Lead portfolio reviews—high-risk awards, S2P metrics, projects-on-track, CO risk trends.
• Programme Delivery: Draft performance narratives, chair kick-off meetings, and keep High-Risk Award trackers current.
• Transformational Projects: Drive readiness and “go-live” for PRIME, PMM, POT, PROFLEET and other change initiatives.
• Knowledge Management: Capture lessons learned, best practices, and share concise guidance across 13 states.

What You’ll Do

Programme Delivery & Analytics

• Track monthly / quarterly KPIs, budgets, and high-risk awards; flag issues early.
• Produce clear performance narratives, portfolio trend analyses, and factsheets.
• Coordinate kick-off meetings, risk-mitigation plans, and acceleration actions with Area Offices.

PRIME Roll-Out (Project Lead)

• Own the readiness roadmap: data clean-up, migration, UAT, training schedules, champions network.
• Liaise with Regional Change Manager and CAPP project teams; keep SMT briefed.
• Oversee post–go-live support and close-out activities.

Operational Support & Knowledge Management

• Maintain improvement trackers, risk logs, action plans, and lessons-learned library.
• Compile and disseminate monthly & quarterly operations reports.
• Act as focal point for internal/external program visits and two-way comms with Area/Field Offices.

Capacity Building

• Organise targeted trainings (budget phasing, PMM, PRIME, reporting) for Area teams.
• Mentor field staff to strengthen on-time, on-budget delivery.

What You’ll Bring

Essential

• Master’s in international studies, social development, or related field.
• ≥ 3 years’ experience in information-management/coordination roles (ideally in humanitarian or INGOs).
• Hands-on familiarity with Save the Children awards or ops functions, plus PMM & PRIME systems.
• Proven ability to analyse large data sets and translate into concise management insights.
• Strong English writing, presentation, and stakeholder-engagement skills.
• Resilience under pressure; able to juggle tight deadlines and multiple workstreams.
• High integrity and commitment to child safeguarding (Level 3 contact).

Desirable

• Experience of working for or with Save the Children, or a related right-based or development organisation.
• Understanding of the development issues and/or work experience in East Africa region.
• Basic competence in one or more of the major languages in the region.
• Experience of operating multimedia equipment including digital cameras, video recording equipment, web cams, and voice recorders.
• Experience of tailoring communication and advocacy messages for a variety of decision-makers and high-level audiences.
