MSF Eastern Africa is the regional institutional office of MSF. It focuses on representation and networking, recruiting and supporting staff from the region, communications and fundraising, as well as working on other dossiers of importance to MSF such as Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), Data Protection, mutualization, training, medical operational support and environmental health.
The Safety and Security Analyst has a responsibility on safety and security matters, including conducting safety & security risk assessments at HQ and missions on request, staff training, briefing and provide adequate equipment and support, respond to safety & security incidents and ensure they are timely and accurately managed and reported.
The Analyst will also be responsible for developing and generating Safety and Security related analysis and reports. In collaboration with the Head of the ASA Unit the Safety and Security Analyst will develop policy, framework, protocols and templates in line with MSF’s strategy and humanitarian principles. Additionally, the analyst will provide capacity-building and strengthening learning and development to achieve a holistic and inclusive management strategy and approach to safety, and security.
The Safety and Security Analyst will regularly monitor the safety and security situation in Kenya and Eastern Africa. They will gather input and feedback, triangulate information, assess the reliability of sources, and produce both written and visual analysis and insights to enhance general awareness and support management decision-making.
This position will be hierarchically and functionally accountable to the Access and Security Unit Lead.
