Responsibilities:

§  Setting the strategic direction of the organization as well as being involved in the business development of the organization.

§  Providing some products that are not easily found in the market.

§  Improving on the products that they already have.

§  Engage with a board of experienced healthcare workers who help in thinking through the objectives of the organization.

Achievements

§  Successfully set up the organization which after one year of operations is breaking even. We are looking at increasing our employee base from the current 6 to 10 by the mid of this year. Our client base has grown in leaps and bounds
2011 – 2016
Woman Care Global / IPAS
Position: Africa Sales Director

Responsibilities:

§  Collaborated with the board to ensure that the strategic direction of the organization is well aligned to the objectives of the organization well-articulated to the implementers of the strategy.

§  Developed and rolled out projects which were successful in increasing the access to contraception in women of Africa.

§  Coach, mentor and leader of a core team within the organization as well as distributor partner’s teams across Africa.

§  Initiated cross organizational teams in the reproductive health arena to come up with strategies that would reduce maternal mortality and morbidity in Africa.

Achievements

§  Increased the awareness, accessibility, availability and affordability of various forms of contraception in women and thus lowered the maternal mortality numbers in the African countries evidenced by the Domestic health surveys (DHS) conducted yearly in each country.

§  Identified, recruited and trained partners within the various countries whom the organization engaged with to effectively deliver on the objectives.

§  Set up the healthcare business unit for East Africa to ensure that the foot print of the organization increases within the east Africa region.

§  Principal liaison person of the organization’s healthcare division for east Africa engaging with both public and private healthcare sector to improve accessibility and affordability to high end diagnostic equipment and tests.

§  Lead both internal and partner run employees to create a seamless organization that is pulling in the same direction

Achievements

§  Set up the first fully equipped and privately owned and run diagnostic facility in Mombasa and Kisumu as well as introduced and set up the first digital public run facility in Nairobi.

§  I grew the foot print of the organization 10 fold to become a market leader in the medical diagnosis field due to the exceptional customer satisfaction and efficiency of entire teams of technicians, financiers, clinicians and other players involved under my stewardship.
