His educational background includes primary and junior secondary education, culminating in a Full Junior Secondary School Certificate. In 2009, he achieved a certificate in Business Administration from Copperbelt Distance Learning University, graduating with distinction. Additionally, he has undergone advanced training in crusher repair and maintenance.

Gilbert’s career spans several key positions in renowned companies. He began his professional journey in 1974 at Nchanga Mine, where he held various roles including Junior Clerk in Maintenance Planning Office and Shift Boss, overseeing production statistics and analyses for open pit operations. His tenure at Nchanga lasted until 1995 and included significant responsibilities in maintenance planning and administration.

From 1997 to 2000, he worked as an Accounts Clerk focusing on credit control at KB Davies & Co. Following this, he transitioned to DELKOR Technik Zambia as a Salesman for spare parts. Gilbert then served as a Salesman at JR Scallan & Co., where he managed key accounts in the mining sector from 2002 to 2009.

In 2009, he joined Metso Minerals as Sales Manager, later taking on the role of Sales Technician for the Congo DR until 2013. He continued to build his career in sales with Aqua Africa Limited, serving as External Sales Technical from 2015 to 2016.

Gilbert is proficient in multiple languages, including English, Bemba, Swahili, and French, and possesses strong computer skills. He also holds a valid SADC Driving Licence Class C.
