About Me

As a Commonwealth Scholar and Infectious Disease Field Epidemiologist, I am fully committed to achieving success in this field. Throughout my career, I have developed a diverse skillset, including leadership, research, and statistical expertise, thanks to numerous training courses and research work placements.

With over six years of experience in Public Health, I am a dedicated professional with expertise in monitoring, evaluation, accountability, learning, and program management. I also possess strong skills in public health promotion, disease surveillance, and public health research, which are complemented by my proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Driven by a passion for furthering public health, I am committed to improving public health outcomes for all. I approach every opportunity as a chance to learn new skills and contribute to this field. My academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Public Health, Field Epidemiology Training Program-Intermediate, MPH-Health Informatics, MBA-Hospital Administration and Health Care Management, and I am currently a final year student at the University of Dundee pursuing an MSc. Infection Prevention and Control Program.

Overall, my experiences and education have equipped me with the necessary tools to make a meaningful impact in Public Health, and I am excited to continue my journey in this field.

    This degree focuses on equipping students on how to tackle major health problems at a global, national and local level, as well as understanding how to reduce health inequalities through coordinated actions.

    December 2021 - October 2022

    FETP is an in-service program focused on training district and national public health workers in public health emergency response and strengthening Sierra Leone’s public health surveillance system. The program integrates 25% didactic learning with 75% field work.

  • Postgraduate Certificate in Monitoring and Evaluation in Global Health at University of Washington

    January 2023 - March 2023

    Course topics include M&E models and frameworks, indicators, design and deployment of M&E plans, quantitative and qualitative data collection, data verification methods, M&E assessment designs, and ethical considerations.

Experience

  • Field Epidemiologist and Infection Prevention and Control Technical Lead

    1. Hold district level discussions on IPC and WASH as well as contribute to review of standard operating procedures and training manuals for IPC, as needed
    2. Quarterly assessments on status of IPC implementation in assigned PHUs and use findings to identify gaps and develop quality improvement plans accordingly
    3. Outbreak investigations through active and passive case search for notifiable disease
    4. Collect and analyze data obtained from interviews, surveys, and sample tests to determine the cause of a health problem
