From April 2000 to July 2015: The national Daily Newspaper of Burkina Faso: Les Editions Sidwaya as a Full-time Print Journalist- Reporter

At the beginning of my career, in 2000, I was writing news on cultural and social aspect of life, mostly big news on women’s issues, for the sake of promoting all those who are leaving in rural areas; my aim was to reveal their bad living conditions and promote their rights.

My objective was also to make government and institutions be aware of the difficulties that those women are facing. I need to free them from men’s tyranny as well.

To achieve such an objective, I used to go and meet, one after one, women ‘s associations to interview them and write news on their activities including their daily difficulties. Then, one day, I wrote about an association of rural women producing, manually, local butter because they did not have any modern tool. As soon as I publish my article as top news, the Director of the International Monetary Fund himself, who was taking part at a summit in Burkina Faso, met those women before his departure, not only to encourage them but also to give them 5000 US dollars. Then, the ministry in charge of women’s

rights gave them modern material and all related tools. They even got a head office, a nice place to stay where they produce and export their butter. Since then, they improved the quality and quantity of their butter.

As far as Environment protection is concerned, I was awarded the special prize of UNDP, at the 2013 National Awards for Journalists, thanks to a big news related to Environment protection in the northern part of Burkina Faso.

The objective of such story was to fight against sandbank and

deforestation, by sensitizing people through my writings and make them take part at the struggle against climate change.
