Context:
Founded in 1960, Terre des hommes-Lausanne (Tdh) is the largest Swiss children’s aid organization. With a presence in Burkina Faso for over 30 years, Tdh is a Swiss children’s aid foundation with no political, racial or religious affiliations, working in the fields of Maternal and Child Health, Nutrition, Health System Strengthening, Food Security and Child Protection against exploitation, abuse and violence in all its forms.
General Responsibilities:
USAID’s health program in Burkina Faso aims to strengthen Burkina Faso’s healthcare system and contribute to increasing individual and community resilience. This program, which is aligned with the country’s priority health sector interventions, seeks sustainable solutions to major health challenges and significantly improve access to quality health care and services.
The Chief of Party will lead the implementation of the project*, providing strategic vision and strong management to improve the health system. This role involves overseeing project implementation, ensuring results are delivered on time and on budget, adhering to USAID guidelines, and fostering partnerships with local government agencies, NGOs, community leaders and private sector stakeholders.
The Chief of Party will also be the primary point of contact for USAID and all other stakeholders including governmental actors in order to maintain and develop productive collaborations. This role requires proactive leadership in coordinating activities among various stakeholders and integrating priorities across different health initiatives. He/she will be responsible for achieving project results and ensuring quality and accountability.
The Chief of Party will provide overall leadership and management of the project, ensuring the fulfillment of technical objectives, effective management of financial resources and program staff, and successful maintenance of partnering agreements. In addition, he/she will maintain positive working relationships with government representatives and local partners and oversee the preparation of project-related reports.
*This is an anticipated project, conditional on the acquisition of USAID funding.

Profile:
Education:
Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Public Health, Health Administration or Health Policy and Management or any other relevant field
Experience & Competencies:
At least 7 years of proven leadership in the administration of international donor-supported programs of similar size, with expertise in strategic planning, management, supervision and budgeting, including experience working in the health system in Burkina Faso.
Previous experience as a grant director or USAID-funded project manager is an asset.
Languages: Fluency in English and French is required.
IT: Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages, including Excel.
