About SIHA: The Strategic Initiative for Women in the Horn of Africa (SIHA) is a regional network of civil society organizations founded in 1995. Position Summary:

The Sudan Focal Point – North State, Dongola serves as a key liaison between SIHA’s country and regional teams and local partners, service providers, and communities in Northern Sudan. This role is critical in ensuring effective implementation and monitoring of SIHA’s women’s rights and protection programming in the region, with a particular focus on documenting cases of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) and supporting survivors through emergency response and service referrals.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

• Utilize SIHA’s approved tools and methodologies to accurately document and analyze SGBV (Sexual and Gender-Based Violence) cases.
• Produce detailed, evidence-based reports on the status of women and girls in Darfur, identifying key protection gaps, emerging trends, and service needs.
• Collaborate with community-based organizations to ensure inclusive and contextually sensitive reporting
• Maintain active and constructive communication with relevant service providers including health, legal, and psychosocial support actors.
• Facilitate referrals and coordinate case management support for survivors.
• Map and regularly update the directory of service providers within the operational area.
• Establish consistent follow-up mechanisms with all sub-grantees to assess performance and compliance.
• Provide technical guidance and on-site support to strengthen sub-grantees’ capacity for reporting, documentation, and implementation.
• Submit monthly follow-up and performance assessment reports to the Sudan team.
• Actively participate in and support the delivery of activities led by Gender Equality and Peace Collective groups.
• Contribute to the planning, logistics, and facilitation of community dialogues, awareness sessions, and advocacy events.
• Ensure that activities are inclusive and responsive to local gender dynamics.
• Maintain a well-organized archive of all project documentation, attendance lists, photos, and feedback forms.
• Ensure timely submission of updates and reports to the SIHA Sudan Office and regional teams.

Qualifications, experience and skills required:

• Proven experience in documenting SGBV cases and working with survivors in humanitarian or development settings.
• Familiarity with the socio-political context of Darfur and Northern Sudan, particularly issues related to women’s rights and protection.
• Strong coordination and relationship-building skills with service providers, community actors, and CSOs.
• Demonstrated ability to write clear, analytical, and evidence-based reports.
• Experience working with sub-grantees or grassroots partners in a support and oversight capacity.
• Knowledge of humanitarian principles, confidentiality standards, and ethical handling of sensitive information.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and deliver outputs within tight deadlines.
• Fluent in Arabic (spoken and written); working knowledge of English is an asset.
