Recurrent needs for other projects (Tanzania, Lebanon, Niger, …) Start date: flexible Duration: minimum 3 months As a paediatric doctor you may be required to respond to cholera or other epidemics, manage hospital-based care for severely ill neonates, address the needs of ill, injured or malnourished children, or work with displaced families or refugees. Being an MSF paediatrician is a challenging and exciting role, and the needs are very diverse. Your Responsibilities • Apply medical knowledge and skills to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of children; ensure integrated newborn and paediatric care through emergency, outpatient and inpatient department services and treat cases of malnutrition in line with protocols and universal precautions • Ensure quality of care and capacity building by providing ongoing newborn and paediatric training to the multidisciplinary medical and paramedical team, reviewing complicated cases, and offering technical input • Keep patients and families informed of the illness and treatment to be followed, and check that they have understood; ensure that professional autonomy and confidentiality are respected, and demonstrate a good attitude and bedside manner towards patients and their caregivers • Monitor the evolution of the hospital patients through daily visits, consultations and examinations • Monitor the proper functioning of the department and its patient flow; provide inputs and general organisation of the different paediatric wards, including admission, transfer and discharge criteria and the procedure for referrals from the maternity and post-delivery wards • Work collaboratively with the medical team leader, medical coordinator and paediatric advisor to propose modifications that will improve paediatric care Depending on our activities and needs, your responsibilities may be adapted and evolve according to the specificities of each project. You will not be facing these challenges alone —other MSF team members, both international and locally hired staff, will provide technical support, including extensive guidelines and protocols. MSF OCG – Field recruitment – 12.02.2026 Your Profile • Medical doctor degree • Paediatrics specialisation • Recent clinical experience in a hospital setting (at least six months within the last 24 months) • Fluency in English or French • Available for a minimum of three months • Commitment to MSF’s social mission and values • Strong team player with good communication skills Assets • MSF experience and/or working experience in developing countries or humanitarian settings • Experience in neonatology and/or in emergency paediatric room • Teaching/coaching experience and interest • Recent PALS/APLS or equivalent paediatric/neonatal advance resuscitation certification or training (in the last 5 years) • Arabic language knowledge MSF offers As an expatriate leaving to the field, you will receive: • An exciting work experience as your skills will make a difference to the people around you • Initial training before your first mission • Detailed briefing on identified project • Psychosocial assistance before, during or after mission • Remuneration (indemnity salary based on previous work experience and country of residency) • Welfare coverage, such as medical care and vaccination package, accident insurance, including repatriation • Food and accommodation • Per diem (calculated according to local cost of living) to cover daily expenses • Travel costs and visa administration • Debriefing and personal career planning as well as training opportunities • Contract for the duration of the mission • One week of holiday for every three months of mission (in the country for Yemen mission) • Departure on mission is non-accompanied (no family or couple departures).
