ABOUT LEARNING FOR LIFE (L4L)
The Learning for Life (L4L): Building a Resilient and Responsive Health Workforce in Africa programme, sits within the Institute of Capacity Development (ICD) and is a 4-year programme in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, which is being implemented in Kenya, Senegal and Zambia during this first phase. The programme focuses on creating sustainable job opportunities, fostering innovation and entrepreneurship, and building leadership capacity in the health sector. The Learning for Life Programme focuses on three key pillars of work: Health Employment, Health Entrepreneurship, and Health Ecosystem. This comprehensive approach aims to improve training infrastructure, increase employment and income-generating opportunities, enhance regulatory frameworks for primary healthcare workers, and equip future leaders with the skills needed to transform healthcare delivery across Africa.
ABOUT THE ROLE
You won’t just write stories; you’ll build bridges between data, human experience, and innovation. You’ll dive deep into the journeys of health innovators and entrepreneurs, capturing not just what they do, but why it matters — to a community health promoter in rural Kenya, to a physiotherapist in Zambia, to a young innovator dreaming of change in Senegal.
You’ll be in a space where you can experiment with multiple formats whether it’s a blog, an animation, a mini-documentary, or a podcast episode; constantly asking, “How can we make this resonate even deeper?”
