Media in Cooperation and Transition (MiCT) calls for proposals from qualified organizations capable of supporting the Career Development of a community of journalists under its “MiCT Fellowship for Critical Voices 2026” program in the Middle east & Egypt.
1. Introducing MiCT
Media in Cooperation and Transition (MiCT) is a non-profit organization that delivers expert media services in complex and challenging contexts with passion, precision, and agility. Through our collaborative work with our partners, we foster transparent, inclusive, and fair dialogue, supporting resilient societies that thrive.
Across three continents and 15 countries, MiCT facilitates the training of journalists and media producers, program and content development, radio and film production, magazine and book publishing, media research and monitoring, and supporting our partners’ financial viability.
2. The MiCT Fellowship for Critical Voices Program
MiCT Fellowship for Critical Voices Program is designed for media professionals from countries experiencing crisis and conflict who hold journalistic integrity as a core professional value. Currently, the program concentrates on journalists and media creators from Afghanistan, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, MENA region, Sudan, and Myanmar under a global mandate.
Fellows are afforded financial and health assistance, expert safety guidance, online and in-person training, legal and psycho-social support, production counsel, and entry to a worldwide network of media professionals with shared values. MiCT requires Career Development Support Services in the middle east to contribute achieving the goals of the program.
3. Description of the Role
The duration of the contract is until June 2026. The selected provider will be responsible for supporting up to 25 fellows throughout the contract period. Key responsibilities will include:
Establishing and maintaining secure communication channels with fellows to support their professional development needs.
Conducting career assessments to identify fellows’ skills, goals, and development priorities.
Designing and delivering tailored activities, including trainings, mentorship sessions, and one-on-one consultations.
Identifying and engaging relevant trainers, mentors, and industry experts based on fellows’ needs.
Facilitating networking opportunities and connections with relevant media, civil society, and professional communities.
Submitting monthly activity reports detailing all implemented actions in line with MiCT’s indicators.
Preparing required documentation, coordinating procurement procedures, and ensuring proper signing of all project-related documents.
Ensuring timely submission of financial and activity reports to MiCT, in accordance with agreed deadlines and formats.
Participating in regular check-ins with MiCT project management to maintain coordination and ensure smooth implementation.
4. Proposed Team Structure
The service provider is expected to assign a dedicated team consisting of:
Activities Manager (Career Development Lead)
Finance/Administrative Officer
4. Application Requirements
Interested organizations should demonstrate the following:
Proven experience in career development and capacity-building programs, including the design and delivery of trainings, mentorship, and professional support services, preferably within the media or civil society sectors.
Ability to provide tailored support to participants with diverse professional backgrounds and needs.
Established network of trainers, mentors, and industry experts relevant to journalism, media, and related fields.
Strong coordination and communication skills, including experience working with international partners and managing remote support.
Sensitivity to the challenges faced by journalists in the region, including precarious work conditions and limited career opportunities.
