Mission for Essential Drugs and Supplies (MEDS) is a faith-based health solutions provider founded by an ecumenical partnership of the Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops (KCCB) and the Christian Health Association of Kenya (CHAK). The Organization’s core mandate is being a reliable provider for quality and affordable Health Products and Technologies, Quality Assurance and Health Systems Strengthening Services. MEDS was established in 1986 and serves clients spread throughout Kenya, other regions in Africa and beyond.

Project Summary
MEDS is implementing Access to Health Program (ATH) in partnership Bohringer Ingelheim to improve access to quality and affordable innovator brands for the treatment and management of non-communicable diseases across all 47 counties in Kenya, supporting the prevention, treatment and management of non-communicable diseases and other health priorities. The Project shall run for two years with a possible extension upon successful implementation.

The position will report to the Business Development and Marketing Manager and will be responsible for ensuring that the organization’s medical laboratory commodities are effectively marketed, meet regulatory standards, and are utilized optimally by healthcare providers and laboratories through expert product knowledge, customer support, and strategic market analysis.

Key responsibilities:

1. Detailing of the products under Access to Health program to generate prescriptions.
   Collaborate closely with the Field Officers integrating technical expertise with sales approaches to enhance team effectiveness and drive Patient enrolment for Boehringer Access to health program
2. Coordinate CMEs and training initiatives for both customers and internal teams, facilitating consistent knowledge transfer and skill development to maintain high standards of ATH product knowledge to generate Patient enrolment
3. Visit customer locations to conduct real-world product demonstrations, showcasing product value and contributing to successful sales
4. Collect and document customer feedback during and after product use, contributing valuable insights to product development

Job requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in relevant Health Sciences e.g Pharmacy, Clinical Medicine, Nursing, Medical Laboratory or related field with marketing experience Or Business Degree in Marketing/ Management/Administration or related field with relevant health-related Diploma e.g. Clinical Medicine, Nursing, Medical Laboratory or pharmacy and marketing experience
2. Registration with relevant regulatory professional body
3. Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience as a Sales/ Marketing Executive
4. Own vehicle and Clean driving licence with at least two years of continuous driving experience
5. Technical Competencies: Business acumen; Marketing skills; customer service and Negotiation skills
6. Behavioural attributes: High level of integrity, interpersonal skills, Communication skills; Problem solving skills; Analytical skills
