Ethiopia Internship Internship

The Internship
PEJ is seeking experienced and highly motivated interns to help implement its projects and activities in Ethiopia. This internship is remote. The intern will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of tasks, including but not limited to the following:

• Carrying out research and draft legal analysis on human rights and transitional justice issues.
• Drafting or editing English language documents as needed
• Assisting in writing project reports, etc.
• Drafting background research and preparatory materials
• Taking minutes of meetings
• Archiving materials and managing project materials database
• Other duties as prescribed by project leadership.

Requirements

Applicants are expected to meet the following requirements:
Education: Degree holder or current University students in the fields of law, human rights, International Criminal Law, Transitional Justice, and related fields
Prior experience: While it is not a pre-requisite, prior professional experience (including
internships) in a legal environment or with a public interest organization is an asset.
Skills:

• Strong knowledge in the fields of international human rights law, international criminal law and Transitional Justice.
• Excellent presentation, writing, editing, research, oral advocacy, and communication skills.
• Excellent English language writing and research skills.
• Proven ability to handle confidential matters.
• Ability to organize and drive projects to timely completion.
• Ability to work collaboratively, multi-task, and work under pressure.
• Self-motivated and firmly committed to PEJ’s mission, principles, and values.
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision while regularly communicating with
  colleagues and supervisors.
