In the context of investment management mandate for climate finance debt funds, responsAbility is expanding its climate financing activities in the areas of renewable energy generation, carbon finance, energy efficiency and electric mobility. Investments are solely initiated to emerging and developing countries, with the focus on Africa, South Asia and Southeast Asia. The position as Investment Analyst for Climate Finance Direct Investments in Nairobi offers a great opportunity to support future oriented goals in a lively working environment.

Main Tasks

Conducting independent research on various markets, technologies and investment opportunities.
Providing support to senior team members on transactions, including support on desktop and on-site diligence, financial analysis and transaction closure.
Review and stress testing of financial models.
Drafting of screening reports and investment memoranda which serve as the basis for investment decisions.
Monitoring of portfolio investments as well as of the markets in which they are operating.
Provide day-to-day operations support to credit risk management and transaction management teams of the company.
Liaising and cooperating with teams located in Nairobi, Zurich, Mumbai and Bangkok.

Experience and Skills

Graduate degree in economics, business administration, finance, or a related field from a reputable institution.
Three to four years of experience in consulting or financial/investment experience preferably in the renewable energy / climate finance space.
Strong analytical, writing and presentation skills.
Proficient handling of financial modelling and accounting as well as spreadsheets.
Excellent oral and written English language skills.
High degree of initiative, reliability and willingness to learn.
Transparency and interpersonal skills.
Interest in and enthusiasm for climate finance and impact investments.
