EMERGENCY COORDINATOR (W / M)

The Danish Refugee Council, one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, is currently looking for a highly qualified and motivated Emergency Coordinator.

About the work

The Emergency Situations Coordinator provides direct supervision (appointed by the HoP) and technical leaders to the DRC Burkina Faso emergency response, and oversees the delivery of the DRC Burkina Faso emergency project portfolio . In addition, the EC supports the HoP in the development of the DRC emergency program strategy and ensures that privileges with other sectors of the DRC, in particular food protection and security, are woven. .

Your main functions and responsibilities for results-based and timely response to emergencies in Burkina Faso will be as follows:

• Lead program strategy
• Lead the development of the program
• Management technique of personnel working in emergency response
• Contribute to representation and coordination
• Contribute to reporting & MEAL

To be successful in this role, we expect you to demonstrate your knowledge, know how and know how to behave for this role. Specifically, we also expect the following:

Mandatory

• Minimum 5 years of work experience in the management or supervision of emergency programs in the TEA / Shelter and WASH sectors
• Demonstrated work experience in the implementation of the MRR
• Demonstrated coaching and management skills in intercultural environments
• Demonstrated organizational and planning skills
• Demonstrated skills in project development
• Proficiency in common IT packages and financial software i.e.Word, Excel, Power point, etc.

Desirable (desirable)

• Previous experience in Burkina Faso, the Sahel or in a similar context with capacity for conflict and access analysis

We offer

Contract duration: 12 months

Band: Non-Management- G

Designation of the service post: The post office is based in Burkina Faso, in Ouagadougou (family service post) with trips to rural locations. The position is not accompanied.
