Project Manager based in Niger Full Time

Description

OASIS seeks a Project Manager to contribute to two important programs based in Maradi, Niger. The first is Safe Spaces programming being implemented by OASIS partner, Lumiere des Filles et des Femmes (LFF), an independent women-led organization working to empower and educate adolescent girls. The second program aims to improve training of pre-service providers on counseling for family planning.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1.  Support LFF programming (~50% time)

• Develop and facilitate capacity building opportunities tailored to LFF’s priorities and needs, such as: grant proposal-writing and reporting; human resource management; data analysis; use of Word, Excel and Powerpoint, etc.
• Contribute to monitoring of program indicators
• Create content (photos and storytelling) for communications materials, including website, facebook, brochures, and reports
• Serve as OASIS liaison to partners in the field, including government officials and local organizations

1. Support family planning counseling pilot (~50% time)

• Work with Niger-based consultant to fill in gaps on a situational analysis from 2020
• Conduct and document interviews with potential partners to help OASIS select an appropriate partner for the project
• Work with Niger-based consultant and partner representative to draft a project plan and compile training resources
• Contribute to monitoring and documentation of project activities, including report writing
• Serve as OASIS liaison to project partner
• Contribute to and/or coordinate input from OASIS on training design

Timeline

OASIS aims to hire for this position by end of February with work commencing as soon as possible thereafter. For the ideal candidate, our timeline for relocation can be flexible.

Qualifications 

Required

• Interest in living and working in Maradi, Niger for a minimum of one year
• Strong working proficiency in French
• Highly organized, efficient and able to work independently
• Excellent oral and written communications skills
• Strong ability to manage timelines and budgets
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PPT

Preferred

• Experience managing projects or programs
• Experience creating or adapting training materials
• Demonstrated success working in non-native culture
• Demonstrated interest in family planning and/ or girls education
• Masters degree in relevant field or a Bachelor’s degree and two years relevant work experience
