I hold an MSc in Agricultural Economics, Postgraduate Diploma in Irrigation Engineering, and BSc in Agriculture all from the University of Nairobi. I have also completed short courses in Rural Microfinance, Project Planning and Management, Feed Milling and Data Analysis in Rice Research.
Over the last thirty-seven years, I have been project director, project manager, team leader, project coordinator, and/or member of multi-disciplinary teams of consultants in over 90 projects. During this period, I provided leadership and guidance in project implementation and policy in both the public and private sectors in Botswana, Ethiopia, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Mozambique, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Somaliland, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe. I have also gone on duty tours to Denmark, Germany, Israel, Malaysia, and The Netherlands where I attended short courses, conferences and seminars, and presented technical papers on Africa’s agriculture and rural development, as well as water resource management. My clients include FAO, IFAD, AU, World Bank, EU, JICA, KfW, GIZ, SNV, USAID, NGOs, Governments, companies and individuals. I have direct experience in Baseline and Socio-economic Surveys, Community Development, Livestock Production, Evaluation of Projects and Programmes, Feasibility Studies, Feed Milling, Impact Assessment, Irrigation Planning and Management, Monitoring and Evaluation, Needs Assessment and Training, Participatory Development, Project Planning and Management, Irrigation, Transport, Water and Sanitation, Writing and Editing, University Teaching, and Value Chain Analysis.
