Discovering and promoting effective solutions to global poverty problems.
Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA) is a research and policy nonprofit organization dedicated to discovering and promoting effective solutions to global poverty problems. Founded in 2002, IPA works by designing and implementing randomized evaluations to test and improve the effectiveness of development programs and policies. The organization collaborates with decision-makers to ensure that evidence is used to inform policy and practice, aiming to improve the lives of the world’s poor.
With a strong presence in over 20 countries, primarily in Africa and Latin America, IPA has conducted over 900 evaluations across various sectors. These sectors include education, health, governance, agriculture, financial inclusion, and social protection. By leveraging rigorous research methods, IPA seeks to bridge the gap between academia and development practice, ensuring that interventions are both effective and scalable.
