Within the limits of delegated authority, the Public Information Assistant will be responsible for the following tasks:
• Participates in the planning, coordination, and implementation of outreach activities in the Haut Mbomou region and contributes to drafting narrative and financial reports.
• Serves as Assistant Radio producer in Sango and French, ensuring media coverage for Radio Guira FM and the Mission’s various digital platforms (website, Facebook, X, Flickr, YouTube), of key activities and events in Obo and in all prefectures covered by the MINUSCA Regional Office.
• Provides general office support; responds to information requests and inquiries; processes, drafts and finalizes correspondence and other communication reports; sets up and maintains files/records, organizes meetings, monitors deadlines.
• Provides specialized assistance to officers in the production and delivery of communications products and services, including collection, analysis, and interpretation of data and subsequent generation of reports.
• Researches, compiles and presents basic information for use in the preparation and production of communications products/services.
• Serves as photographic assistant by handling digital imaging, producing photo prints, and acting as a back-up photographer; writes captions for UN photos.
• Coordinates media coverage of key events; liaises with news and publications agencies/SCPI’s Units, community radio and other national media institutions, and UN photographers, etc. to provide information on upcoming meetings, field missions and activities and special events.
• Manages technical arrangements, organizes space allocation, and facilitates access for visiting news, photo, TV and film personnel.
• Participates in the planning and coordination of exhibits and special projects; liaises with relevant sections; drafts and edits reports, production schedules, press releases and related texts, and correspondence related to the planning and production of exhibits and special projects.
• Ensure administrative services, including preparing, monitoring and processing various requisitions for communication goods and services, and coordinating packaging of products for distribution at special events and related travel authorizations.
• Building partnerships around the different areas of intervention of MINUSCA and to develop working relationships with various Obo entities, associations and social networks in order to promote the visibility of interventions supported by MINUSCA. •Performs other duties as assigned
