Oxfam’s Women’s Economic Empowerment and Care (WE-Care) team is seeking an exceptional Programme Manager and a Programme Adviser who are motivated to improve women’s rights and challenge power structures that enable social injustice and inequality. For Oxfam, this is a time of expansion of programming, advocacy and learning on women’s economic empowerment. WE-Care is a large, ground-breaking multi-country programme operational in Africa and Asia, with high-profile donors and external communications. This programme uniquely combines the implementation of water infrastructure and labour-saving equipment, with challenging the social and cultural norms associated with unequal gender roles, and advocacy and influencing with institutions, companies and governments. These are exciting and unique opportunities to shape and deliver a substantial programme of Oxfam’s Women’s Economic Empowerment strategy. The post-holders will join a global team responsible for advancing thinking, influencing policy and practice, and managing multi-country programmes promoting innovative approaches to ‘new issues’ in development.
