A dynamic citizen organization based in Togo is seeking a dedicated and experienced volunteer to significantly boost its fundraising capabilities. Our mission focuses on capacity building, community empowerment, environmental advocacy, youth education and rule of law. The Role: Volunteer Grant Writer
We are looking for a highly motivated Grant Writing Volunteer to spearhead our proposal development and external funding efforts. This is a critical remote or Togo-based volunteer position that will directly impact our ability to secure resources and expand our programs.
Key Responsibilities
The Volunteer Grant Writer will work closely with our leadership team to:
Research & Identification: Identify potential grant opportunities from US and European government agencies, foundations, and international development organizations.
Proposal Development: Draft, edit, and submit high-quality, persuasive grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and required supporting documents.
Donor Familiarity: Ensure all proposals and applications adhere strictly to the established guidelines and procedures of United States and European donors (e.g., specific formats, budget structures, reporting requirements).
Documentation: Maintain a comprehensive calendar of submission deadlines and required reporting for all grants.
Content Synthesis: Gather information from project managers and field teams to accurately and compellingly describe our programs and impact.
Essential Qualifications
Proven Experience: Demonstrated success in writing and securing grants, particularly from US and European funding sources.
Bilingual Proficiency (Mandatory): Strong knowledge of both English and French is essential for researching opportunities, communicating with international donors, and developing proposals in both languages.
Attention to Detail: Exceptional organizational skills and an uncompromising commitment to accuracy and meeting tight deadlines.
Commitment: Ability to dedicate a consistent, flexible number of hours per week (to be discussed) to meet grant deadlines.
