Tetra Tech International Development (http://www.tetratech.com/intdev) is currently accepting expressions of interest from qualified Technical Specialists on an anticipated five-year USAID-funded Scaling Up Investment in Weather and Climate Information Services Activity in Senegal.
The purpose of the Activity is to enhance resilience, productivity, and nutritional outcomes in fishing and agriculture systems (i.e., farming, livestock, pastoralism) through expanding the use of WCIS and early warning systems for flood control and drought forecast in the face of increased climate uncertainty and weather hazards.
Responsibilities:
Technical Advisors will provide technical leadership and activity oversight across several areas of anticipated focus for the project.
* Weather and Climate Information Services
* Disaster management and early warning
* Fisheries and aquaculture
* Agriculture, food security and nutrition
* Pastoralism/livestock management
* Climate adaptation and resilience
* Private Sector Development Specialists
* Data, analytics, and information management
* Training and institutional capacity strengthening
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in related field, master’s degree highly preferred.
* At least 8 years of technical experience in related field.
* USAID project experience preferred.
* Proven leadership, organizational and writing skills required
* Fluency in French is required, and professional knowledge of English is preferred
