Area Sales Manager – Ghana

PORTWEST, a leading global manufacturer of safety wear, and PPE is currently seeking applications for the position of Area Sales Manager based in Ghana within our regional sales team. Portwest is one of the fastest growing work wear companies in the world currently employing over 4500 staff worldwide, with customer service staff in over 130 countries. We design, manufacture and distribute market leading work wear, safety wear and PPE in fully owned production facilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As the Area Sales Manager for Ghana you will bring your outside sales/field sales experience to sell Portwest products to distributors, reporting to the Global Sales Director. Among your key responsibilities will include:

• Build quality business relationships with new and existing customers
• Identify new potential clients and show persistence in winning their business
• Conduct daily face-to-face sales calls to maintain and develop relationships with distributors
• Identify customers with high-growth potential and develop a roadmap to maximise sales with them
• Develop strong product knowledge to outline features and benefits of our entire range to customers
• Engage in consultative selling by identifying customer needs and selling our solutions to satisfy those needs
• Develop clear and effective written proposals/quotations for current and prospective customers
• Focus on product vitality and aim to sell new product lines in conjunction with the company’s stipulated target
• Conduct ongoing development of market intelligence, including marketing events such as trade shows, seminars, exhibitions and journals which is fed back to the business
• Promote distributor promotions on our products with end users

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

To become the Area Sales Manager for Ghana you will need:

• 3-5 years workwear, PPE or safety wear sales experience
• Selling on behalf of a manufacturer, distributor, reseller or agent is advantageous
• Energy, professionalism, motivation and persistence to win new customers and grow your market share
• Clean driving licence and willingness to drive throughout your designated region
• Willingness to live in the area wherein you work
