Born out of a sense that advice to the aid and development community could be simpler, clearer and stripped of the consultant-speak, we started our own agency and in the meantime, Aries Consult’s reputation has grown as a small but highly efficient consulting firm known for its expertise in research and data analysis.
With a strong track record in conducting baseline studies and evaluations. Our team comprises skilled professionals who possess in-depth knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies. Based on our experience and rooted in science, we do a few things well:
Our experts have worked extensively in all domains of aid and development aid and they are knowledgeable about almost every topic under the sun. But we only apply that knowledge to assist with social research, for designing science-based monitoring or evaluation projects or for strategic communications and on projects we believe in.
As a partner in research, Aries Consult Ltd brings several strengths to the table. Firstly, we have a thorough understanding of the local context and are well-versed in working with diverse communities, across Africa. This enables us to navigate cultural sensitivities and establish meaningful connections with stakeholders and beneficiaries at all levels be they institutional partners or the general populations.
Secondly, our team is proficient in incorporating the transversal issues that underpin the work of the aid and development community, such as gender analyses and needs of vulnerable groups, which allows us to provide valuable insights that go beyond the immediate dynamics of the communities or sectors we research. That is why we bring specific experts to our projects under the leadership of a seasoned senior researcher and methodology expert.
Moreover, Aries Consult Ltd is committed to maintaining high standards of data quality and integrity. Our team follows rigorous data collection and analysis protocols to ensure accurate and reliable results. We have a strong focus on transparency and accountability throughout the research process.
We love doing research. It is often difficult, hard work. Tedious sometimes, but never boring. It feeds our curiosity; it allows us to learn, to think about life, about the human condition, about resilience and learning,… as a result, we find that we are always learning, which is an exciting outcome of the job.
Research is also a two-way street: it changes us too. We are constantly challenged, as we are exposed to new ideas and viewpoints, which has caused us to see things differently and to change our perspectives! Furthermore, our approach to research emphasises collaborative partnerships. We recognize the importance of working closely with our client organisations and other stakeholders to co-design the study, ensuring that their perspectives and expertise are integrated into the research process. This collaborative approach enhances the credibility and relevance of the study findings.
Research helps us to build traits and characteristics like independent thinking, resilience, communication, and creativity. All things we can bring into other aspects of our work.
