Ghana – Digital Communication Advisor (partner NORSAAC) Volunteer

Mandate duration: 12 months Start Date: As soon as possible

This is a 12-month mandate in Ghana – Tamale.

The mandate is under the Equality in Action Volunteer Cooperation Program (VCP), which takes place in about ten countries in Africa, Latin America and Middle East over an eight-year period (2020-2028). The VCP aims to increase the involvement of local partners in inclusive, innovative, and sustainable initiatives that will advance gender equality. Oxfam’s role is to support these organizations, working with the most vulnerable and marginalized people, to claim and exercise their rights. Oxfam places the rights of women, girls, and vulnerable and marginalized people at the heart of everything we do.

Here’s what your daily life will look like:

In close collaboration with the Oxfam team members and the partner organization NORSAAC in the country of intervention, the advisor will be responsible to:

• Support the communication manager to define a digital strategy.
• Support strengthening the capacity of the partner organisation on appropriate digital communication tools.
• Propose and design innovative multimedia content to feed the social media pages.
• Propose innovative methods and approaches to mobilize the public around digital campaigns.
• Advise on other actions/visibility tools that can be used to achieve the digital communication objectives
• Support the development of the digital campaign strategy for country advocacy work and participate in their implementation.

For this mandate you must:

• Be a Canadian citizen or have permanent resident status in Canada;
• Have university degree in Communication or other relevant field;
• Be fluent in English, spoken and written (required);
• Have 3 years of experience with NGOs, with focus on Community management and Development communication;
• Have excellent knowledge of the digital world, Pack Office and Design software, and good audiovisual and multimedia skills;
• Master the Office suite.
